Introduction to building scalable event-driven systems

Jun 16, 2022
17:30 - 21:00 CEST
Zwolle, Netherlands
Free

This is an exclusive opportunity to join AxonIQ, the creators of Axon Framework, and their IT consultant partners Four Scouts at the online shopping retailer Wehkamp warehouse in Zwolle, Netherlands on Thursday 16th June 2022.

After a chance to get acquainted over food and drinks courtesy of Wehkamp. Allard Buijze, CTO and Founder of AxonIQ will deliver a presentation “Event-driven microservices - beyond the fairy tale?” In this session, Allard will share a different take on microservices. We will see that not much has changed in how we build software, which is exactly the reason so many "microservices projects" fail. What lessons can we learn from concepts like DDD, CQRS, and event sourcing to help manage the complexity of our systems?

Allard will also show how message-driven communication allows us to put the focus on finding the boundaries of functionally cohesive components, which we can evolve into microservices should the need arise.

Sharing the spotlight is Four Scouts Panche Gashteovski, Software Engineer, presenting “The nonsense of Agile and the necessity for agility.” Panche will touch on the current state and the understanding of Agile and what organisations can do to move forward with company-wide agility by using concepts of beyond budgeting, sociocracy, open spaces and systems behaviour.

This Meetup "Introduction to building scalable event-driven systems", promises to be an evening of enlightening presentations.

We look forward to welcoming you to the home of Wehkamp.
