Linckr's Audit-Ready Identity Platform: Safe, Fast, and Compliant Identity Management

Linckr lets consumers verify their identity once and share it, with consent, across service providers. To meet KYC, AML, and GDPR, Linckr built its platform on event sourcing, and its auditor had never seen audit trails so transparent or fast.

Introduction

Linckr connects consumers with service providers through one consumer-oriented platform. Instead of re-entering the same details in every app and portal, consumers verify their identity once and share it, with consent, wherever they need it. Service providers get authenticated digital data they can trust.

The Challenge: Compliance Without Friction

Consumers

Consumers deal with a growing number of apps and portals, each with its own process. Linckr set out to make identity verification, consent-based data sharing, document signing, and data reuse simple across all of them.

Service providers

Service providers need that experience without compromising on regulation. Every exchange on Linckr has to stand up to:

  • Know Your Customer (KYC)

  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML)

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The Solution: A Real-World Event Modeling Example

Why did Linckr choose Axon Framework?

Linckr’s team found that developers ship better features in an opinionated framework. Because Axon Framework is explicit about CQRS and event sourcing, modeling behavior as commands and events comes naturally. Starting from UX/UI designs, the team uses Event Modeling to define every event, policy (business rule), and command before writing code.

Why did Linckr choose Axon Server?

Linckr built on microservices from the start to keep the system modular. That meant it needed middleware to deliver messages between services, and Axon Server handled it without a single line of extra code.

The Linckr technology stack is based on

Event-based microservice architecture

  • Event-based architecture based on microservices modeled with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

  • Spring Boot microservices with Reactor, Axon Framework, and GraphQL

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Hosting the platform and managing services for infrastructure

  • Linckr’s Axon implementation runs in a Kubernetes cluster they decided to migrate from AWS EKS to an AWS EC2 instance

  • Leveraging a GitOps approach for shipping new features

Cafienne (CMMN engine)

  • The Case Management Model and Notation (CMMN) engine Cafienne is also a CQRS/event sourcing-based application leveraging Akka

Digita

  • SOLID server and PODS (Personal Online Data Storage)

Digidentity

  • Verifying identity up to the highest eIDAS standards

React and Capacitor

  • Mobile app for iOS/Android and Web

The Result: Audit Trails an Auditor Hadn’t Seen Before

Because every event on the platform is recorded as it happens, Linckr can show exactly who shared what, with whom, and when. That’s the record KYC, AML, and GDPR audit trails depend on.

"Our auditor has never seen such a good process and tech stack. The transparency and speed of audit trails we could provide was beyond anything they’d ever seen."

- Leon van Dooren, Managing Partner, Linckr
