Sales Executive
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Executive to join our growing sales team. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, experience in open source selling, a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and experience in early stage start-ups in the US.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Identify and prospect new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and lead generation
Research and qualify potential clients to build a robust sales pipeline
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape
Generate leads through various channels including referrals, trade shows, and digital marketing
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
Conduct needs assessments and consultative selling to understand client requirements
Present product demonstrations and proposals tailored to client needs
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close deals effectively
Provide ongoing account management and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention
Sales Process Management
Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact through contract signing
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM system
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals
Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, product, and customer success
Follow up on quotes, proposals, and outstanding opportunities
Performance & Reporting
Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas
Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management
Analyze sales performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and team activities
Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and competitive intelligence
Required Skills & Qualifications
Sales Experience
3+ years of proven B2B sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
Experience selling Open Source technology
Strong track record of closing new business in the US
Experience with consultative and solution-based selling methodologies
Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and forecasting
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation and negotiation abilities
Ability to build rapport and trust with clients at all organizational levels
Active listening skills and ability to identify client needs and pain points
Technical & Analytical Skills
Proficiency with sales tools, CRM software, and Google Workspace
Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends
Ability to learn and articulate technical product features and benefits
Experience with virtual selling tools and remote client engagement
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory (typically 25-50%)
