AI Developer

The role:

As an Al Developer at AxonIQ, you'll build practical Al-powered tools and applications that help developers work more effectively with event-driven architectures. You'll integrate large language models and Al services into our product ecosystem to create intelligent features that enhance the developer experience. 

Key Focus: "How can we use Al to make event sourcing and event-driven development more intuitive, efficient, and accessible?" 

What you'll build: 

• Intelligent code analysis tools that help developers optimize their event-driven architectures

• Al-powered documentation generators for event sourcing patterns and best practices

• Smart debugging assistants that analyze event streams and suggest solutions

• Automated code review tools that understand event sourcing principles

• Interactive Al guides that help developers learn and implement event sourcing correctly

What You'll Do

• Develop Al-Powered Features: Design and build practical Al applications using LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) that integrate seamlessly with AxonlQ's Event Store, Axon Console, and Axon Server

• API Integration: Create robust integrations with various Al services, handling prompt engineering, response processing, error handling, and rate limiting

• User Experience Focus: Build Al features that genuinely improve developer workflows, not just showcase technology

• System Integration: Seamlessly embed Al capabilities into existing Java-based systems and ensure they work reliably at scale

• Security & Compliance: Implement secure Al integrations that protect user data and meet enterprise security requirements including GDPR compliance

• Collaborative Development: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver features that solve real developer problems

What You Bring 

Essential Skills: 

• Java Proficiency: Strong Java development skills with understanding of modern JVM technologies and frameworks

• API Integration Experience: Solid experience working with REST APIs, HTTP clients, and handling external service integrations

• AI/LLM Understanding: Practical knowledge of working with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and understanding Al capabilities and limitations

• System Design: Ability to design reliable, scalable services that integrate Al capabilities into existing systems

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on building practical solutions to real developer problems 

Valuable Experience: 

• Experience with AI/ML APIs (OpenAI GPT, Claude, etc.) and prompt optimization

• Knowledge of vector databases, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), or semantic search

• Understanding of event sourcing, CQRS, or event-driven architectures

• Experience with Spring Boot, microservices, or distributed systems

• Background in developer tools, IDEs, or developer experience
